Mass Yesterday

I thought you might like this, it is our choir singing at Mass yesterday, with some pictures of the Mass. We ended with the traditional blessing for those departing on journey and a good  dousing with Holy Water for the Sisters and gave them a few souvenirs of Brighton, an even balloons (the balloons play no part in the Mass!) Poor Servant of the Mother of God don't get them often.

I shall miss the Sisters, they are good, holy, sensible women, who are much loved here.

p.s. the recording was done on a portable telephone, so the sound of our choir is not the best, though I thing they sound pretty good.

I congratulate your Parish on the quality of its singing. I am sure that you will indeed miss the Sisters after their departure. Where are the young women of today who do not see any point in following a religious vocation?! How very sad!

That was lovely! It happens to be my favorite Ave Maria, and I quite enjoy singing it. Your choir did a great job, no doubt with much hard work before.

This was very beautiful! The sisters look at peace. Maybe Theotokos will send them strength to still visit you now and then?
I read that Britain is said to be "the Dowry of Mother of God". I must admit, for my part, even certain pagan aspects about it (only the non sexual abstract stuff) seem simply beautiful to me. It's sad actually Henry the 8th did not want protestantism, yet his actions led that now UK is no longer ruled by a local dynasty. I do believe that when God admonestates us it's for pedagogical reasons, so we can see, but right now the light is so dim. The world has truly gone its own way .. away from Him and His Angels.
Father I saw some porcelain pieces with the Nativity scene, as Orthodox we're not allowed to use them but I was thinking... yet Arch. Gabriel had boobs on His body. Why do we do this? Aren't we yet still alive today because God and His Holy Angels protect us from Baal? Why offend tha hand who feeds us?
Just saying...

What a loss for you and your parish Father Blake, I just hope you have a “Plan B” to step in when they have departed. It’s one of the bad results of “Vat II” that some priests must cook and clean for themselves, no other help being available or offered …
And it is a huge loss to society too. Women and girls know that they can rely on nuns (no offence to the priesthood of course) but it’s special when lay women and religious can be together.
When I espy a sister, I always try to greet her/ them, nuns have especially warm smiles – for everybody.

JM,
They haven't been doing that but they have been visiting the sick and befriending people and doing an awful lot of praying.
